I am a licensed psychologist in California and the founder of Mindful Growth Psychology. For over 30 years, I have worked with people navigating emotional difficulties, trauma, relationships, and periods of significant change.
My work is grounded in the belief that understanding ourselves more deeply can help us respond to life with greater freedom and self-compassion. At the same time, insight alone is not always enough. Therapy can also help us experiment with new ways of thinking, relating, and acting in accordance with what matters most.

I earned my doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University and completed my doctoral internship at Penn State University.
Earlier in my career, I worked at several university counseling centers. At the University of San Diego Counseling Center, I developed an APA-accredited doctoral internship in professional psychology and spent more than 20 years supervising psychologists in training. I also co-wrote and presented on topics including therapy with trauma survivors, group therapy, and training and supervision from feminist and multicultural perspectives.
These experiences shaped my appreciation for the ways personal history, relationships, culture, and social context influence emotional well-being.
Having been trained in multiple models of therapy, I integrate several therapeutic approaches, including EMDR Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal/Relational therapy. I also integrate cognitive behavioral strategies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills, and mindfulness-based practices when needed.
I do not assume that one method will fit every person or every concern. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their goals, identify patterns that may be getting in the way, and choose approaches that make sense for their individual circumstances.
My aim is to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while finding practical ways to move beyond patterns that no longer serve them.
I recognize that identity, culture, family history, and broader social experiences can profoundly shape how we understand ourselves and relate to others.
I strive to offer an affirming and respectful space for people from diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds, as well as LGBTQIA+ individuals. I welcome curiosity, complexity, and honest conversations about the experiences that matter to you and approach those conversations with curiosity and humility.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy exercise, meditation and yoga, baking, gardening, reading, spending time with family and friends, and being with my dogs.
